Organ transplantation is the therapy of choice for patients with end stage organ failure. Short and long-term outcomes have improved rapidly in recent decades such that the greatest challenge facing transplant units is one of donor organ supply rather than rejection of transplanted organs.
The COPE project conducted three clinical trials across Europe. Recruitment is
complete for all three trials, with follow-up in POMP continuing until the primary end
point is reached in May 2019.
1. Liver transplant involving normothermic machine perfusion in the south of England, Germany, Belgium and Spain - recruitment complete.
2. POMP trial: kidney transplants involving hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and the South of England
3. COMPARE trial: kidney transplants looking at the delivery of oxygen during hypothermic machine perfusion in Belgium, The Netherlands and the South of England - recruitment complete.
If you are interested in knowing more about these trials please contact the Project Office through firstname.lastname@example.org stating your name, patient details (if applicable), location and any other pertinent information.
