For patients

Organ transplantation is the therapy of choice for patients with end stage organ failure. Short and long-term outcomes have improved rapidly in recent decades such that the greatest challenge facing transplant units is one of donor organ supply rather than rejection of transplanted organs.

The COPE project is conducting three clinical trials across Europe:

1. Liver transplant involving normothermic machine perfusion in the south of England, Germany, Belgium and Spain

2. POMP trial: kidney transplants involving hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and the South of England

3. COMPARE trial: kidney transplants looking at the delivery of oxygen during hypothermic machine perfusion in Belgium, The Netherlands and the South of England.

If you are interested in knowing more about these trials please contact the Project Office through cope@nds.ox.ac.uk stating your name, patient details (if applicable), location and any other pertinent information.

This project has received funding from the European Union's 7th Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement 305934.
