Profesor Andreas Paul is the acting Head of the Department of General, Visceral and Transplantation Surgery at the medical faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen, and has extensive experience in Organ preservation, and the evaluation of marginal organs. Within COPE, Professor Paul is the scientific lead of our POMP trial and his centre is also involved in the liver trial.

Professor Thomas Minor is head of the Surgical Research Division at the University Clinic Bonn. He is an expert in experimental transplantation and organ preservation. He has great experience in isolated organ perfusion, machine preservation and transplantation of kidney and liver in pigs. In COPE, he is leading the experimental work programme on liver perfusion.

Dr Peri Kocabayoglu graduated magna cum laude as a medical doctor from the University of Duisburg-Essen Medical School in 2007, after which she commenced her surgical training at the Department of General-, Visceral and Transplantation Surgery at the University Hospital Essen.

 

Within COPE, she is managing the POMP trial together with Professor Andreas Paul and is furthermore the local coordinator for our liver trial in Essen.
